Deposits
For all works over £250+VAT we require a 10% deposit at the time of booking; a 40% payment (or value of materials if greater) prior to the start of works with the remainder due on completion.
Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received. If the client wishes to cancel the works after a deposit has been made but before the works have commenced, the deposit refund will be as follows:
Cancellation Notice
Minimum 6 Weeks’ Notice: Full refund
Minimum 4 Weeks’ Notice: Full refund less any shipping fees incurred for receipt/ return of materials
Minimum 2 Weeks’ Notice: 50% deposit to be refunded
Less than 2 Weeks’ Notice: No deposit refund
At the sole discretion of the management, a refund may be offered in certain circumstances.
Refunds will typically be processed within 14 days. If we need to wait to receive a refund back from third parties (such as for parts, materials, or deposit for other contractors), then the refund may take longer.
Estimates & Quotes
Estimates and quotes are valid for 14 days from the date sent.
Confirmation of acceptance is required in writing and a deposit (if applicable) before a booking can be made.
If extra works/materials are required which are not included in the estimate then we will advise and these will be chargeable in addition to the agreed price.
Payment
Invoices are due for payment immediately upon delivery to the Customer.
Payment method is via BACS (As found on estimates, quotes and invoices) or cash (by prior agreement) on completion of the job.
Non-Payment of invoices may result in debt collection or court action.
Certificates will not be forwarded until full payment for works is received.
Guarantee
Our work carries a guarantee against faulty workmanship which is valid for 6 months from the date of the work completed. Your invoice is your reference for your guarantee.
If the issue is found to not be related to the works previously undertaken by us, is not related to faulty workmanship or if the issue arises past the guarantee period, then the works will be chargeable at our normal rates.
Guarantees are only valid if full payment is received for the works. Materials supplied by Silver Maintenance Ltd will be covered by manufacturers’ warranties.
The Guarantee will become null & void if the work completed/supplied by Silver Maintenance Ltd is:
(a) Subject to misuse or negligence.
(b) Repaired, modified, or tampered with by anyone other than a Silver Maintenance Ltd workman. Silver Maintenance Ltd will accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability, materials supplied by the Customer & will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault.
Work is guaranteed only in respect of work directly undertaken by Silver Maintenance Ltd where payment in full has been made. Any non-related faults arising from recommended work that has not been undertaken by the company will not be guaranteed.
Works undertaken by third-party contractors/subcontractors for Silver Maintenance Ltd (such as engineers, builders, tilers, plasterers, plumbers, etc.) are subject to the guarantee of the contractor in question. All subcontractors carry their own indemnity insurance.
Silver Maintenance Ltd shall not be held liable or responsible for any damage or defect resulting from work not fully guaranteed or where recommended work has not been carried out. Work will not carry a guarantee where the customer has been notified by the engineer either verbally or indicated on any quote or invoice of any other related work which requires attention.
